I've been flying for over 25 years. During that time I went from a Private Pilot for Single Engine aircraft, to Instrument Rated (flying through clouds), Multi-Engine rated and even did my Commercial Certificate. After selling Stearman Technology Group I prioritized time to do "all those things you always wanted to do". Some of that was charity focused (Angel Flights for cancer patients etc) and some purely personal objectives like building furniture or adding an Airline Transport Pilot rating (the highest available) and even an ATP for both Single & MultiEngine Land as well as Single & MultiEngine Seaplanes! Yes, it is as fun as you think it is...
Last I went back one more time for several Instructors ratings including Instrument & MultiEngine Instructor. That allowed me to instruct my oldest son - who at the age of 15 soloed a glider, 16 soloed an airplane, at 17 passed his Private Pilot test & his Instrument Rating and finally on his 18th birthday completed his Multi-Engine Instrument check ride!
